Season Spoilers

I can confirm that the final shot in the episode will drive Clois fans bonkers. I can also confirm that Kristin Kreuk will make a cameo appearance…sort of. The landmark episode contains a Lana flashback. (Ausiello)

For the show’s 10th and final season, producers have scored perhaps their biggest casting coup: They’ve snagged erstwhile Lois Lane Teri Hatcher to play mom to Erica Durance’s Lois Lane! (Ausiello)

“This is Clark’s last journey, so it’s a pretty big thing to make that last step to putting the Superman persona into place,” says Smallville boss, Kelly Souders. “There’ll be a lot of levity and a lot of fun this season, but there’s also going to be some pretty monumental moments.” (KristinEonline)

Guest Stars Galore: As if John Schneider’s emotional return in tonight’s premiere isn’t enough , get ready for the midseason comeback of John Glover’s Lionel Luthor. “Ooooh,” is all Kelly will say. “Wait until you see how he reenters the story,” Smallville boss, Brian Brian Peterson adds. (KristinEonline)

Lois and Clark’s relationship gets pushed down the field with some pretty big plays.” When asked if these two will find true happiness in the end, Kelly simply says: “I would be a very rabid viewer the first half of the season if that’s what you’re looking for—I wouldn’t wait until the very end to tune in.” (KristinEonline)

CW confirms that Teri Hatcher, aka Superman’s soul mate from the days of The New Adventures of Lois and Clark, has joined Smallville’s final season as our beloved present-day Lois’ (Erica Durance) mother. (KristinEonline)

Well, sorry to break it to you, Kryptonites, but Alan Ritchson (aka Arthur “AC” Curry) just got word that his superhero alter ego will be, um, diving back into the CW hit’s 10th and final season—and that the, um, bubbly character we once knew is no more… “It’s supposed to be a lot darker this year,” Alan told us at Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards,  “which I’m so excited about.” (KristinEonline)

Chloe is desperate to locate Oliver, who last was seen being attacked by a swarm of somethings  that weren’t Kandorians – and you know what they say about “desperate times.” P.S. I saw one “Lazarus” review that said Chloe and Ollie share no scenes together. (Fancast Blogs)

Toward the very end of the premiere, there is a moment that made me literally exclaim “Wow!” at my TV set. I wasn’t quite sure they would “go there,” but god bless ‘em, they did. (Fancast Blogs)

Present-day Clark comes face-to-face with future Clark (a.k.a. Superman) in next Friday’s 200th episode. But I’m pretty sure that’s old news. Here’s some new news. In the Oct. 22 episode, Clark finally decides to tell Lois his secret. Which is kind of funny because that’s the same episode she decides to tell him her secret: that she already knows! (Ausiello)

Aquaman is officially off the market. When the H20-based Justice Leaguer (as played by Alan Ritchson) returns to Smallville next month, he’ll be a married man. The lucky bride? Classic DC Comics undersea queen Mera! Actress Elena Satine will play the role of Mera. The newlyweds will turn up in this season’s Tom Welling-helmed ninth episode. (Ausiello)

Tonight is the momentous 200th episode you’ve all been waiting for—and boy, is it a big one for Clark Kent (Tom Welling). Tonight’s “Homecoming” brings romance, remembrance of things past and a preview of the future for our hero. (KristinEonline)

We are going to see some ramifications of Oliver stepping out, and for Clark it’s very impactful on his life because it’s the thing that he struggled with from the beginning, about whether or not to be open with who he really is. He’s now watching his best friend go through exactly what he’d do. (KristinEonline)

“Season 9 was really about wrestling with darkness,” says exec producer Kelly Souders. “And while [Season] 10 is about having to go up against darkness, because of Darkseid, it has a much more future-forward, hopeful, inspiring tone to it.” Which is nice. (Fancast Blogs)

What we know: Lois’ dearly departed mother will be played by ‘Desperate’ Housewife/’Lois & Clark’ alum Teri Hatcher in Episode 8, “Abandoned.” What we don’t quite know is what purpose Ella Lane will serve by appearing to her daughter via old videotapes. Erica Durance  sheds some light, saying that by experiencing Mom’s missive, Lois is “able to let go of a lot of guilt that she’s had, and she’s able to move forward – and in doing so, she helps Clark move forward with his life.” (Fancast Blogs)

Clark Won’t Spill His Secret To Lois: “It’s for her safety,” Tom Welling  tells me. “He doesn’t want her to get hurt. And I’m not talking about emotions; I’m talking about if somebody goes after Clark and knew that she knew, she could be in danger. He’s trying to protect her.” (Fancast Blogs)

Ladies and gentlemen, meet the “zany, colorful and unique” Cat Grant, as described by portrayer Keri Lynn Pratt (’Cruel Intentions 2′). “Cat is picking up right where Lois left off – or at least trying  to!” the actress says with a laugh. And Clark’s reaction to his new newsroom neighbor? “Just shock,” says Pratt. “Then, after he gets past that, he gets a bit compassionate towards her.” (Fancast Blogs)

Chloe’s Vanishing: Well, whatever the case, Justin Hartley  previews, “Clark finally tells Oliver, ‘Look, she’s not missing; she left,’ which is really hard for someone like Oliver to comprehend. Oliver is sitting there like, ‘What does that even mean? He doesn’t get that.” And then? “Then we go to find her,” says Justin. At some point, “She’ll be back, so that’ll be good.” (Fancast Blogs)

If you’re a Clois freak, the Oct. 29 ghost-town-set episode is not to be missed. Trust me. Elsewhere, expect more Justice League appearances toward the end of the season. (Ausiello)

Soap star Lindsay Hartley  pops up on the CW hit Nov. 12. Buzz surrounding this episode is already huge, and not just because of the Mr. and Mrs. Hartley doubleheader. “Abandoned” also marks the debut of Lois Lane’s mom Ella, played by Teri Hatcher—who was, of course, TV’s Lois Lane in the 1990s. We’re told that the arrival of Ella is an emotional roller-coaster ride, so brace yourselves for another hour of Smallville magic. (KristinEonline)

Smallville producers have asked Michael Rosenbaum to come back for the final season, but so far, Michael has not signed on. I’m told Tom himself also reached out to ask (beg?) him, but again, so far, no dice. Who’s got a plane that can skywrite? Let’s get creative, people! In other spoilery (and related!) news I’m told that Tess is a ******. (KristinEonline)

Smallville bosses Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson tell us Teri Hatcher’s role as Lois Lane’s mom, Ella, is a major tearjerker. Apparently someone close to a crew member found out she was dying, so she “sat down and made these videos for her child. What we did with Ella Lane was pull that into the show because it was so heart wrenching,” says Brian. (KristinEonline)

Are there any plans to bring the show back for an 11th season with the kickass future Lois (Erica Durance) and Clark (Tom Welling) as the stars?
“I can’t say it’s the first time the words season 11 have creeped up this year,” laughed Brian during a private panel for the press. “As we’ve been pushing that it’s the final season of Smallville, I think it’s the final season of Smallville. We don’t know [of any] plans, but we never bet against ourselves and the show.” (KristinEonline)

We can reveal exclusively that Clark will tell Lois that he’s the Blur in this week’s episode.
“There are two big things: Does Clark just tell her he loves her, or does he say I love you and I’m the Blur?” Brian told reporters. “He’s got a lot of things to lay out. And we really wanted to focus on the emotion of this moment, and leave whether he’s Superman or not aside. The important thing after his journey was saying that he loved her, and reassuring her of his feelings.” (KristinEonline)

If you’re a Clois freak, the Oct. 29 ghost-town-set episode is not to be missed. Trust me. Elsewhere, expect more Justice League appearances toward the end of the seas. (Ausiello)

“It came together beautifully,” adds Kelly. “I just watched three takes and I had to stop for awhile because it was so heart wrenching. Teri just had an incredible performance, and it was beautiful.”  (KristinEonline)

Soap star Lindsay Hartley (who also happens to be Smallville stud Justin Hartley’s real-life wife) pops up on the CW hit Nov. 12. Lindsay’s character answers to Smallville villainess Granny Goodness, and being the good little minion she is, Harriet makes it her mission take Clark down. (KristinEonline)

I can only confirm that Lois is for certain in the “Luthor” episode; to say anything further would be to ruin too much fun.  (Fancast Blogs)

Aquaman’s last appearance? As of right now it is. But if his portrayer, Alan Ritchson, has his way, it won’t be. “I think there’s a possibility that if they continue on the path that they’re on toward the Justice League, you might see another assembly of that — not that I’ve heard anything….It very well may have been my last time.” (Ausiello)

Smallville boss Kelly Sounders tells us, “Right now the heroes are under a lot of scrutiny, so Martha’s the powerful woman we set her up to be. We last saw her as the Red Queen and when we see her again she’s just as strong and powerful and has just as much of an impact on Clark’s life.” Look for Annette’s return in episode 13. (KristinEonline)

“Chloe’s return is actually really fun because she comes back badass,” show runner Brian Peterson says with a laugh. “She doesn’t need anything supernatural to make her badass,” adds fellow Smallville braintrust Kelly Souders. Alison Mack’s turns up on Smallville in episode 12—one of the handful of episodes she’ll take part in during the final season. (KristinEonline)

There are other returns to look forward to, like this Friday’s resurfacing of Aquaman (Alan Richman). “What’s fun is the episode has two sides to it,” says Brian. “One is the return of Aquaman and what’s really exciting is he comes back with his wife Mera. We have this storyline with the heroes, with Oliver and A.C. and with Clark and Mera. But there’s also the relationship aspect as Lois tries to find her way in Clark’s life and sees Aquaman with his own wife.” (KristinEonline)

Sources confirm Alison Mack will be back in episode 13, called “Collateral,” airing in January. But trust me: There’s some crazy good stuff happening before she returns, too. (KristinEonline)

That paternity reveal – though not 100 percent surprising – triggered tremors as The CW’s ‘Smallville‘ (Fridays at 8/7c) cut to black last week, and promises to have significant repercussions as the show’s final season plays out.  (Fancast Blogs)

It wouldn’t be the final season of ‘Smallville‘ if Clark’s mother didn’t put in an appearance (or more). To that end, Fancast has learned that original cast member Annette O’Toole will reprise her role of Martha Kent in Season 10’s 13th episode, titled “Beacon.”A show rep also has confirmed for Fancast a return timetable for Allison Mack, who is only booked for five episodes this season: The actress will be back as Chloe in Episode 12, “Collateral.”
Both episodes will air in early 2011.  (Fancast Blogs)

This week, look for Cassidy Freeman as you’ve never seen before when we go to an alternate universe where Tess has grown up knowing she’s a Luthor. “It’s going to be Tess but Tess with a lot more knowledge of her past and therefore a different outlook on her life.… It’s an interesting way for us to play a ‘what if’ game,” Freeman told me. As you know, the episode is also the long-awaited return of John Glover as Lionel, and the situation comes to blows as he and Tess clash for the first time in the other world.  (Ausiello)

Smallville bosses Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson tell us the second half of the season will really round out Clark’s journey. Says Kelly, “We’ll see some familiar faces again, and as we’ve always said, Clark has to get closer and closer to being Superman. We’ll be seeing little hints about that throughout the rest of the season. Adds Brian, “There’s also a wink to a Clark-Lois moment in episode 12 (airing early 2011) that the fans have been screaming for!” (KristinEonline)

Chloe and Clark will definitely be friends. I’m also told that Clark will get those glasses soon, and there will be more Darkseid later on in the final season. (KristinEonline)

Episode 200: A Hero’s Journey Remembered – Reflecting on when she first auditioned for her ‘Smallville’ role, which kicked off with Season 8, Freeman says she was told that while Tess was a “mixture” of characters, “We’d kind of figure out what happens with her toward the end – and we did!.” (Fancast Blogs)

Days of Our Lives actor Eric Martsolf recently booked a gig as Booster Gold on an upcoming episode of Smallville. Now, EW has learned exclusively that Jaren Brandt Bartlett has been cast as Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle in the 17th episode of Smallville, titled “Booster.” (Ausiello)

“We’re getting into the background. My character is instrumental in propelling that mythology,” Erica says. “Hopefully, we’ll see Superman do what everybody wants him to do. That’s pretty much all I can say, but he looks good doing it.”
“I think given the opportunity, she’d still kick ass, but she kicks [Clark]‘s ass a little bit more. They’re changing her character a little but more to support him and lift him up, because he’s the one doing most of the ass kicking. She still has her opportunities to get dirty, though.” (KristinEonline)

The CW says Smallville will conclude on May 13 — with a two-hour closer. Though they’re part of the original episode order for the show’s tenth and final season, we’re told the two parts comprise one seamless story. Here’s an official description of the final batch of episodes: “Paying homage to 10 seasons is no small task, and wrapping up each character and story arc has been extremely important to everyone involved in the show,” says executive producers Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders. “We’re excited to be able to make the final moments of Smallville a television event, as the character we’ve grown up with makes his legendary transformation.” (Ausiello)

After 10 seasons, Tom Welling’s Clark Kent is graduating from the limited no-tights, no-flights world of Smallville to the traditional trappings of the mythic Superman. Check out all the action that Chloe (Allison Mack) gets in the Feb.18 episode “Masquerade.” She has Clark’s undivided attention, and it looks like she’s getting close to Oliver “Green Arrow” Queen (Justin Hartley) as well. (KristinEonline)

Stars of long-running television shows deal with the final episodes in different ways. Some act their asses off to preserve the memories. Others sob uncontrollably. Erica Durance will probably do all that…plus steal. “You feel like the belle of the ball,” she admits when asked about being a TV bride-to-be. As for wedding plans, Erica reveals that Lois will have her “cold feet” moments. “True to form, Lois is terrified of commitment. So she has moments where she gets a bit sketchy.” Hey, if Lois doesn’t wanna marry Clark, we bet someone else will be more than happy to take her spot. (KristinEonline)

The CW series “Smallville” will fly off into the sunset with a two-hour series finale May 13. After ten seasons, the story of Clark Kent (Tom Welling) will wrap up his fight against Darkseid, an evil force that wants to turn him into a weapon, and his struggle to save the world, which is being divided over the Vigilante Registration Act. The future Man of Steel will also be starting his life with fiancée Lois Lane (Erica Durance).

Smallville‘s better-than-ever farewell season continues Friday with the appearance of Booster Gold and the Blue Beetle/Jaime Reyes in an episode that will have both fans of the mythology and beloved Clois squealing in delight. As teased in previews, the episode indeed features an iconic phonebooth transformation (but not into the full tights-and-cape). (Ausiello)

If you take what executive producer Brian Peterson told EW last week at face value, perhaps they should. “We’re not really promising a wedding at this point,” he teased. “But definitely they are preparing for a wedding, right up until the finale.” (Ausiello)

Bonus finale tease: The barn gets a final bow. “I won’t say who’s in the scene, but there is one final scene that we shot in the barn, and we literally wrapped that set afterward. It’s still standing, but it was the last time anyone ever shot anything in the barn for Smallville, which — just that moment, given everything we’ve all put into this show, was a really emotional moment for me and for I think everybody in the scene,” he said. (Ausiello)

Tonight 4/15, Clark Kent prepares for his final journey—and Smallville fans will have to start preparing for the end of their beloved show after ten seasons. “I would have to say it gets put through the ringer a little bit. I think that whenever you have one of the great romances in all of history, which I truly believe Clark and Lois are that, it’s going to have some of the great trials, it’s not going to be easy so I will just say that when they finally get together they certainly deserve every moment of the happiness that they attain,” says executive producer Kelly Souders.  (KristinEonline)

New –
Executive producer Brian Peterson reveals,  “We really wanted to keep this Clark’s (Tom Welling) finale. But Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) plays a very interesting role, and there a couple of big twists with Lex.”  (KristinEonline)

Executive producer Kelly Souders says, “Chloe fans should definitely stay tuned through the entire show. There’s a jewel.” (KristinEonline)

Oliver’s Storyline has a big heroic moment, he has a big arc, he has some complications. Hopefully people feel satisfied with the little conclusion in the finale. (KristinEonline)
