Pushing Daisies Spoilers
Show Summary
Pushing Daisies – From Bryan Fuller (Heroes) and Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black) comes an unprecedented blend of romance, crime procedural and high-concept fantasy in a forensic fairytale about a young man with a very special gift. Once upon a time, a mild-mannered boy named Ned realized he could touch dead things and bring them back to life. Grown-up Ned puts his ability to good use, not only touching dead fruit and making it ripe with everlasting flavor, but working with an investigator to crack murder cases by asking the deceased to name their killers. But the tale gets complicated, as all tales do, when Ned brings his childhood sweetheart, Chuck, back from the dead and keeps her alive. Chuck encourages him to use his power to help others, instead of merely solving mysteries and collecting the rewards. Life would be perfect for Ned and Chuck, except for one cruel twist: If he ever touches her again, she’ll go back to being dead, this time for good. Starring: Lee Pace (The Good Shepherd), Anna Friel (Rogue Trader), Chi McBride (Boston Public), Swoosie Kurtz (Sisters), Kristin Chenoweth (The West Wing), Jim Dale (reader of the Harry Potter series of audio books). (On Molly Shannon returning now she has her own tv show) “We actually had a way to have an arc with her in the first part of the season, and then we were debating on if we should we kill her character off, and then we thought, no let’s wait and hopefully she’ll be available to do the show again, because she just fit right in with the cast.”
(On Emerson Cod action) “Dim Some Lose Some,” airing Oct. 29. Chi McBride said, “Emerson might get a little busy. The girl Simone from the ‘Bitches’ episode is going to come back.” (KristinEOnline)
Tania in Sudbury, Canada: Hey, I know you love Pushing Daisies as much as I do. Is there any chance that Paul Reubens will be returning this season?  You, the readers, have the power to bring Paul Reubens back to the show—so says Daisies boss Bryan Fuller: “We would love for him to come back, and we would encourage anybody and everybody to write ABC and talk about how much they love him and would love for him to come back.”
Did Someone Say “Sex Toy”? As season two begins, Ned and Chuck continue to struggle with their impossible love. (Refresher: If he touches her, she’ll be dead for good.) Still, Bryan Fuller insisted, “They are meant to be together, that’s the relationship to root for. And we’re implying that things are progressing with their intimacy. There’s bedtime contraptions; there’s some bedtime, classic sexy—I think episode eight is when you see the device.” Um, device? I thought he was kidding, but no, Chuck and Ned are getting down, and you’ll be amused at how. (KristinEonline)
Skivvies Alert! The Hills Are Alive With the Sound of Kristin: Olive Snook, aka brilliant Broadway diva Kristin Chenoweth, will sing again! “We have her singing in episode one, we have her singing in episode eight and we want more singing, and hopefully we’ll have more episodes after 13 so we can have more singing from her.” Also, keep an eye out for the upcoming Pushing Daisies soundtrack that includes at least two songs from season two: an operatic homage to Rodgers and Hammerstein and the Bangles’ “Eternal Flame.” (KristinEonline)
More on Chuck’s Dad: We know the shocking reveal of the identity of Chuck’s mom (Swoozie Kurtz), but what about daddy dearest? “Episode 5 through 10 are a big arc,” said Fuller. “And that involves the Stephen Root character. He’s a guy who knows Chuck’s dad and knows Ned’s dad. He knows a few secrets, too, so Swoozie’s character is not fond of him being around. We have a romantic story for him and Ellen Greene.” Also, don’t blink! If you do, you’ll miss the Pie Maker’s dad’s cameo in the first episode. (KristinEonline)
Chuck’s dad will most definitely be coming back into the picture, via the touch of one very special man who did him in in the first place. (KristinEonline)
By revealing that in what promises to be an especially fanciful episode, Ned, Chuck, and Emerson will — shades of Seinfeld – meet their Bizarro World selves. How bizarre will alterna-Ned and Co. be? Pretty damn — they’re all Norwegian. (AusielloFiles)
Unbeknownst to both Chuck and Ned, someone with close ties to one (or both) of them has been frequenting the Pie Hole for quite some time. (Ausiello)
Daisies is casting the role of Emerson’s no-nonsense, chain-smoking and, get this, Caucasian mom. (Ausiello)
Kristin Chenoweth will be singing on Pushing Daisies again…after joining a nunnery! (Kristin, EOnline)
We’re going to meet baby Olive! Pushing Daisies is currently casting for a young Olive Snook, and in flashback scenes in episode three, we’ll also meet her negligent parents. (Kristin, EOnline)
