Season Spoilers
Scoop pertaining to Blair-Serena: They’ll start out loving each other, but by November, the hate is on! What triggers the war? Let’s just say Blair doesn’t follow the bros before hos belief system or, in this case, hos before bros. (Ausiello)
On Chuck’s reaction after he finds out Blair tricked him into kissing a guy on Gossip Girl? – The kiss itself isn’t the issue. It’s the general lack of trust between them that causes problems. And the tension grows the following week when another breakdown in trust occurs — this time involving the bar Chuck opens in his new hotel. (Ausiello)
Gossip Girl is really upping the sexy this season. First the always lovely Joanna Garcia, then Hilary Duff and now actor Kevin Zegers is set to mingle with the ultra-elite Upper East Siders. Kevin’s rep confirms to us that he will be joining Gossip Girl for a multi-episode arc as Damien, an international bad boy who somehow gets tied up with the likes of little Jenny Humphrey—who is, in fact, the new Queen Bee. (KristinEonline)
By the looks of these sneak peeks from Monday’s all-new episode of Gossip Girl, Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Blair (Leighton Meester) are starting to bicker. We know that Nick and Nora-style snark is one of their things, but this is verging on genuine romantic disgruntlement, and so we worry. (KristinEonline)
News about Chuck and Blair: It doesn’t get much better than this – They’re still together and (relatively) happy through at least episode 11. (Ausiello)
Sources confirm to me exclusively that Gossip Girl’s Nov. 9 episode will feature three major characters having sex. At the same time. In the same bed. Together. (Ausiello)
Nate’s hot cuz returns! A Gossip Girl insider confirms to me exclusively that Broadway vet Aaron Tveit is reprising his role as Nate’s wealthy cousin, Tripp Vanderbilt, this November for at least six episodes. Idle Gossip says the politically minded Tripp will announce that he’s running for office (possibly the senate) and Nate will get involved with his campaign. I’m told Holley Fain, who played Tripp’s fiancée, will also be returning for multiple episodes. Tveit will juggle his Gossip arc with his current gig on Broadway in Next to Normal. (Ausiello)
In other GG casting news, Sarah Steele (Spanglish) has been cast in the potentially recurring role of Kira Abernathy, a Constance Billard student who attempts to befriend queen bee Jenny. Her first episode airs Nov. 9. (Ausiello)
Rufus and Lily are supposed to be getting married this week on Gossip Girl, but it looks like they’ve both got cold feet. Can Serena and Dan join forces one last time to get their parents to the altar? (KristinEonline)
Sources confirm that Lady Gaga appears as herself in an upcoming episode. (KristinEonline)
Damien (Kevin Zegers) is bad news. If you like raccoon-eyed Little J, you’re in luck, because sources tell us Damien’s going to bring Jenny “to a dark place.” Break out the mascara and eyeliner, Jenny. (KristinEonline)
Bree’s not exactly a paragon of sweetness and light. Her intentions are not as pure as we’ve been led to believe. The redheaded Gossip girl mostly just wants revenge on Carter, and she wants it bad. Better luck next time, Nate. (KristinEonline)
On this week’s Gossip Girl, Hilary Duff and Tyra Banks finally arrive on the scene. Both playing the obvious choice—movie stars—with Serena (Blake Lively) becoming entangled with every publicist’s nightmare (the supermodel as a big-screen diva), while Hil plays the sweet and longing-for-a-normal-life celeb, Olivia, who falls for the oh-so-ordinary Dan (Penn Badgley). (KristinEonline)
It’s true, there will be a Gossip threesome, but sources are staying mum on the deets. (KristinEonline)
Jenny on becoming mean on Gossip Girl: Mean enough to drive her BFF away. I hear Jenny and Eric’s relationship will suffer big time due to her new “Queen Bee” status. (Ausiello)
Could Chuck and Blair really be headed for gloom and doom? Could their long-awaited romance be over so soon after it started? – NO. According to my rock-solid sources at the CW, despite last night’s shaky ending and the promo for next week (above), Blair and Chuck are not breaking up any time soon. “The are far from over,” one insider tells me. “I don’t see them breaking up this season at all.” You heard that, right? Not breaking up this season at all. (KristinEonline)
According to insiders, there’s definitely something between Nate and Serena in the works. However, looky-loos in NYC tell us Blake Lively (Serena) was filming with another high-society cutie all day yesterday at the Empire Hotel: Aaron Tveit, who plays Nate’s cousin Tripp Archibald. “Serena and Tripp run into each other at the elevator of Chuck’s Empire Hotel and take the elevator together,” the onlooker tells us. (KristinEonline)
Bart Bass (Robert John Burke) is coming back. (KristinEonline)
This week’s Gossip Girl episode: Olivia and Dan are spending a lot of time doing the dirty. Naked. Between the sheets. Olivia mentions she is craving ice cream! (OK, gelato, but we hear that’s a similar specimen for glamorous prego types.) Olivia is not pregnant. But still, stranger things have happened on this show. Meanwhile, Blair and Serena are totally breaking up, and trading up. (KristinEonline)
My friends at the CW tell me there are currently no plans to bring back Carter (boo!). And Michelle Trachtenberg is starring in that other show that’s not Parks & Rec or Community and was just picked up by NBC (Mercy), so she’s otherwise occupied at the moment. We took your question to her, and she answered: “Georgina has taken a little trip. She’s gone off with who she thinks is a Russian prince. But as Georgina goes, you never see the end of her. She always comes back and torments.” (KristinEonline)
A main Gossip Girl character is going to get in a serious accident. One that will send her to the hospital. And that someone is Serena (Blake Lively). (KristinEonline)
See Lady Gaga’s as she perform a big musical number on Gossip Girl’s “Last Days of Disco Stick” (KristinEonline)
I’m told that after tonight’s threeway, everything will be very messy for Dan, Olivia and Vanessa. “Things are not well,” says my source, and the threesome will have repercussions for all relationships involved, and we’ll see it all play out next week via flashbacks of the dirty deeds that were done. Also, next week, a fourth wheel comes into the mix: Lady Gaga! No, she’s not actually hitting the sack for an L-O-V-D foursome (can you imagine?), but her music is the catalyst through which Dan, Olivia and Vanessa have to stay connected and work together even more closely for the time being. (KristinEonline)
In next week’s eppy 11/30, it’s Thanksgiving Day! If you’re Serena, you’re especially thankful this year because you’ve had two not-so-bad-looking dudes pining after you. This Monday, she makes her choice and leaves her reject by the curb, literally. (Ausiello)
Also in next Monday’s episode 11/30, someone finds out they’re pregnant. (Ausiello)
The letter from Serena’s dad that Lily has been hiding? It’s going to fall into the wrong hands. (Ausiello)
Hilary Duff has left the building! That’s what I’m hearing from Gossip Girl sources, that the Duffster (Olivia) is no longer a part of the CW series and there are no plans for her to return this season. (KristinEonline)
According to sources, Dan and Vanessa are most definitely on. They will be getting together this season. Ditto Nate and Serena, who will become a bona fide couple. Rufus and Lily will have a major problem (Serena’s father). And Chuck and Blair will be going strong. (KristinEonline)
Awww…poor Nate! He’s got a crush on Serena, and she’s entangled with Trip, and oh, what a tangled love-triangle web these Upper East Siders weave! (KristinEonline)
Chuck is going to visit Bart’s grave on the anniversary of his death, and when he gets there, he won’t be the only one paying his respects. I’m hearing that not one but two family members could be making surprising returns. (KristinEonline)
Even though it is true that John Robert Burke (Bart Bass) will be coming back to Gossip Girl, my speculation that Bart might actually be alive is not true. “He’ll be a ghost,” one source tells me. “There’s a huge storyline later this season that is going to blow you away,” promises my source. “And it involves Chuck, Jack Bass and Chuck’s mother.” Also making a comeback? Serena’s father. “We will see him this season,” says the source. “But he hasn’t been cast yet.” (KristinEonline)
Thanks to Chuck’s newfound family dramarama, you can expect Chuck and Blair to heat up again. And for you Olivia (Hilary Duff) haters, you’ll be happy to hear that she is off the series for good, leaving Dan to get together with longtime special friend, with threesome benefits, Vanessa. I’m also told that the long-held feelings Nate has had for Serena will add some deep emotion to their upcoming pairing. (KristinEonline)
Vixen Kaitlin Cooper Agnes Andrews (Willa Holland) has rejoined Gossip Girl, where she will no doubt contribute greatly to the coming delinquency of Jenny Humphrey (Taylor Momsen). (KristinEonline)
Gossip Girl’s would-be Queen Bee can’t even reign supreme in her own school—and the “petty megalomaniac” look flatters no one—and now she’s going to be a home wrecker, too. Word on the street is that Taylor Momsen’s Little J gets entangled in another love triangle this season, but is she breaking up Chuck and Blair? We’ve got the truth. (KristinEonline)
An inside source tells me that Jenny and Chuck don’t really have any big storylines together this season, so I’m assuming Josh meant Jenny will have a big storyline and Chuck will have a big storyline, but they are not the same storyline. Chuck’s story involves the possible surprise return of his believed-to-be-dead mother (and Jack Bass), and Jenny’s involves another couple she comes between. (KristinEonline)
Serena’s father will be coming in before the season ends. (KristinEonline)
According to Josh Schwartz, “Jenny [Taylor Momsen] and Chuck are really going to be driving a lot of story as we move into the back half of the season.” He’d better not mean together, right Bluck fans!? (KristinEonline)
Everyone’s least-favorite Queen Bee gets a new job: drug mule for boyfriend Damien. Talk about a step up! (Ausiello)
Chuck will be accused of sexual harassment. Also, look for Chuck’s mommy issues and Serena’s daddy issues to intersect. (Ausiello)
Here’s what I was able to get out of Schwartz: “After conferring with Stephanie Savage about what to say without saying too much, I’d add that Chuck and Blair have always played games to keep their romance exciting. But sometimes those games go too far and have a cost.” (Ausiello)
Mr. Spoiler himself, Josh Schwartz, also recently tweeted that an upcoming GG episode was titled “The 16 Year Old Virgin.” (Ausiello)
Chuck and Blair will hit a significant (and potentially irreparable) rough patch at the end of the season. (Ausiello)
Sources confirm to me exclusively that Gossip Girl has tapped the former Dirty Sexy Money star to play the pivotal role of Serena and Eric’s estranged father, William van der Woodsen. A show spokesperson declined to comment, but I’m told Baldwin is booked to appear in at least three episodes; his first airdate is slated for April. (Ausiello)
Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Blair (Leighton Meester) are breaking up. My sources at the CW aren’t even trying to make me feel better about this horrible twist. Insiders tell me, “It’s a bad, bad breakup.” I’m told Chuck does “something horrible,” and that everyone is going hate him for it. Jack Bass (Desmond Harrington) is also implicated in the end of Chair, but of course, we’d expect nothing less from the likes of that villain. No word yet on how long this relationshipocalypse will last, but apparently it begins unfolding in either episode 17 (“Inglourious Bassterds”) or episode 18 (“The Unblairable Lightness of Being”), both of which are set to air in mid-April. (KristinEonline)
The CW officially isn’t commenting, but an inside source confirms EW.com’s report that Billy Baldwin is in talks to play Serena van der Woodsen’s (Blake Lively) absentee father in a few episodes of Gossip Girl later this season. Plus, we’ve learned that the arrival of Baldwin’s William van der Woodsen isn’t just going to wreak havoc on Serena’s life. His return has implications for another blond we love, and it’s not OK! (KristinEonline)
Blair and Chuck’s break-up on Gossip Girl. Blame Jack Bass. It’s all his fault. (Ausiello)
ABC has just informed Ugly Betty producers that the show’s current fourth season will be its last. What’s more, the network has trimmed Betty’s episode order from 22 to 20. Another bad news: Betty is about to hang up her poncho for good. (Ausiello)
Sources confirm to me exclusively that the Broadway vet, Brian Stokes Mitchell., is joining Ugly Betty in the potentially recurring role of Willie’s former flame, Don. The twist? The guy is everything Vanessa Williams’ self-absorbed, superficial taskmistress is not: traditional, down-to-earth, and blue collar. That’s right, Willie used to be in love with an average Joe. He is slated to make his Ugly debut in late February. (Ausiello)
Ugly Betty has tapped Lainie Kazan (My Big Fat Greek Wedding) and Nestor Serrano (24) to play Bobby’s Italian parents, Dina and Anthony, sources confirm to me exclusively. Hilda meets her potential in-laws in this season’s 15th episode when she hosts a get-to-know-you dinner in their honor. Her mission (aside from, you know, getting to know them)? To find out if there’s any truth to rumors that Bobby’s dad has ties to organized crime. Unfortunately, the dinner does nothing to allay her fears. As of now, Kazan and Serrano are booked for one episode, although I’m told they could return later in the season. (Ausiello)
Insiders and the show’s CW rep confirm that Michelle Trachtenberg will be coming back to Gossip Girl for the very last episode of the current season, which is starting to sound crazy good. “There’s a big scandal involving a certain guy you know,” Michelle tells me. “She’s back for vengeance.” Michelle has actually stolen Eric (Connor Paolo) over to her own show. NBC confirms Connor is visiting Michelle’s show Mercy this very week for a guest spot, playing a kid who sets off a pipe bomb on a commuter bus. (The episode is set to air March 3.) So it’s a trade-off of sorts. (KristinEonline)
Georgina will dig her claws into at least one of the Upper East Side guys when she returns for the season ender. (KristinEonline)
Nate and Serena: Sounds like lots of crazy sex is going to happen. Exec producer Josh Schwartz teased via Twitter yesterday that the pair will be getting it on “in the closet, on the kitchen floor… 9 1/2 Weeks in 9 1/2 seconds.” (Ausiello)
I asked executive producer Stephanie Savage about the possibility of a Dan/Blair hook-up down the line, and here’s what she said: “There are only so many combinations [you can explore] on the show, so I think you have to be open to all of them at some point. So, certainly, we have an open mind when it comes to them… Those two are really gold when they’re together. They have great on-screen chemistry.” (Ausiello)
Executive producer Stephanie Savage’s take on Chuck and Blair. “The good news about Chuck and Blair is that when we come back [on March 8] they’ve got a really incredible run with each other. They’re [involved] in a very emotional storyline regarding the mystery lady at Bart’s grave. They solve that mystery together and it’s a great example of Chuck and Blair working together and being very emotionally supportive of each other.” (Ausiello)
Gossip Girl finale will feature ‘two OMG! moments.’ Executive Producer Stephanie Savage declined to provide specifics, although she did reveal that the season 3 capper — which is currently being shot — will be unlike the show’s previous two finales in that “it’s not centered on a big event,” she says. “There’s not a giant wedding or a graduation. It’s a real potboiler where all of this season’s stories bear down on each other. (Ausiello)
The season-ender will also mark the return of Michelle Trachtenberg as Georgina, but it may not be the Georgina we’re expecting. “[She'll have] a different persona,” Savage teases. “We’ll find out where she’s been the past couple of months.” (Ausiello)
William Baldwin’s upcoming Gossip Girl stint as Serena and Eric’s MIA dad (which kicks off April 26) forced him to come face-to-face with an awful truth: “The hardest thing to take in was that I was playing Blake Lively’s father,” sighs the 46-year-old actor of his 22-year-old co-star. “As scary as it is to say, I AM old enough to be her father. But it’s still tough to take. (Ausiello)
Tune in for Monday’s spring premiere of Gossip Girl because Mr. Archibald (Chace Crawford) and Ms. Van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) are finally getting hot and heavy! (Kristine EOnline)
It’s Nerena (or Sate?) aka Nate and Serena who are turning up the heat between the sheets—or make that on top of Chuck Bass’ couch (which Blair says she’s so happy she got Scotchguarded). And although those tricky-dicky writers make us think Blair and Chuck are doing the deed, too, it turns out Blair’s faking it (solo) and professes she and Chuck “aren’t connecting right now.” (Kristine EOnline)
Gossip Girl is back next Monday at 9 p.m. and to herald the return of our favorite Upper East Siders, I caught up with the mastermind behind the drama, Ms. Stephanie Savage herself. Chuck and Blair’s main story when we come back will be solving the mystery of the lady at Bart’s grave (Laura Harring)—who she is, where she came from, what she wants. I think it’s a really great Chuck and Blair story that’s very emotional. You see them working together and supporting each other in a way that I think fans will really enjoy. (Kristine EOnline)
Chuck and Blair will have any steamy sex scenes? We’re turning up the heat on all of your couples in the second half of the season. And I think you will see some of those scenes in a way that people will enjoy and appreciate. (Kristine EOnline)
I think that the Dan and Serena love story was the spine of season one and in a lot of ways the premise of the show grew out of their Romeo and Juliet relationship. They are definitely in each other’s stories this season and in the second half of the season, especially when Serena’s dad comes back. Dan will have a big part in that story. And I think that’s a very powerful methodology and couple methodology that we would never wanna turn our backs on completely. (Kristine EOnline)
I just talked to Stephanie Savage and will bring you couples scoop in a jiffy! In the meantime, “When you think about the Humphreys and Van Der Woodsens and that extended family that they have, [Serena's father] coming back really lands on everybody in a great way. It definitely causes drama for Serena and Eric and the other kids, and there’s an adult component with Rufus and Lily, because there’s some backstory there.” And according to Matthew Settle, Billy Baldwin as Papa van der Woodsen is a great addition to Gossip Girl. Settle told us at the G-Star Raw event in New York City: “It’s a great love triangle. Billy’s got a great energy; he’s a good actor. It’s believable that he would be Serena’s father, and he’s a great fit for the show. It’s really good casting.” (Kristine EOnline)
If you blink you’ll likely miss Blair’s eating disorder. Exec producer Stephanie Savage tells me that there’s a “moment” coming up that touches on B’s struggle with bulimia. “It’s very subtle,” she quickly adds. “But for people who are looking for it, they will find it.” (Ausiello)
Carter’s return on Gossip Girl is tied to the arrival of Serena’s father (Billy Baldwin). (Ausiello)
Georgina has found something even bigger than Bible camp: Bleach! When we ran into her in NYC recently, she said this of her upcoming role on GG: “There’s definitely going to be some stalking. There’s gonna be a few changes to Georgina’s appearance, so you’ll have to tune in and see if you can recognize me.” When we guessed she was going blond, M.T. just said, “I don’t know,” but from the looks of this new photo we just nabbed of her, I fear she may be going Single White Female on Serena’s ass. Run for you life, “S”! (KristinEonline)
Serenate fans! You’re going to want to tune in for Monday’s spring premiere of Gossip Girl because Mr. Archibald (Chace Crawford) and Ms. Van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) are finally getting hot and heavy! Press play above to see them canoodle, and then click in to see Little J go druggie on us, while Blair (Leighton Meester) plans a little fur-trimmed Anna Karenina sexual roleplay with Chuck (Ed Westwick)…Gossip Girl returns to the CW on Monday, March 8 at 9 p.m. with the all-new episode “The Hurt Locket.” (KristinEonline)
Little J is still under drug-dealing Damien’s love spell and decides she’s ready to go all the way with the bad boy (don’t do it, Jenny!), while Rufus and Lily work to form a united front to handle their perpetually troubled youngster. (KristinEonline)
Andrew McCarthy is back! After popping up as little Lily’s dad (Rick Rhodes) in last season’s ’80s flashback episode of Gossip Girl, our friends at the CW tell us Andrew is back tonight with our favorite Upper East Siders. (KristinEonline)
You Nate and Serena fans can look forward to much Nate-Serena hotness, and there’s also a clear indication of which way Blair and Chuck are heading. (KristinEonline)
Jenny’s descent into madness will become darker and much more twisted. Some seriously effed up shiz is going to go down before the season is over. (Ausiello)
Something really bad and potentially irreparable happens immediately after the scene with Chuck at the top of the Empire State Building in the Gossip Girl finale. (Ausiello)
You never know with those tight-lipped Gossip Girl producers, but according to Desmond Harrington, when drama is needed, there he’ll be. “They bring him when they need somebody to ruin something, I guess,” he tells us. We love you, D, but here’s hoping we never see your trouble-bringin’ face about the Upper East Side again. (KristinEonline)
Schwartz and Savage tell me exclusively that fans should not give up hope on Chuck and Blair: “The thing that fans should know that hopefully is reassuring,” Josh explains, “is that Chuck and Blair are always top of mind to me and Stephanie, to the writers. There’s been a long-term plan in place since the beginning of the show about them as a couple, and Chuck and Blair will always be top of mind.” (KristinEonline)
Sources have spilled some crazy juicy scoop to EW.com regarding one Taylor Momsen missing in action when the series returns next season. Citing “creative” reasons, our frenemy reports Taylor will be gone for a yet-to-be-determined number of episodes, and the reason becomes clear after a huge turn of events in the season finale. (KristinEonline)
The real craziness that’s going down toward the end of this season of Gossip Girl is all about who’s saying goodbye. On the heels of the news that Taylor Momsen’s Jenny Humphrey will be leaving the Upper East Side this season, I’m told now that yet another female regular will be heading off into the sunset. (And leaving one heartbroken boy behind.) (KristinEonline)
I’m hearing that Vanessa will be leaving not only New York but the country before the end of the season–running off to a superfancy and superfar job with CNN. So yes, Jessica is the second female, along with Taylor Momsen’s Little J, to head off into the sunset. The good news? I’m told by sources that both ladies will still be series regulars next season. As for you wondering what Little J will do that leads to her departure, I’m told “it’s a culmination of lots of things Jenny does to multiple people.” (KristinEonline)
Don’t expect Serena to continue to sit idly by while Jenny tries to hone in on Nate. The onetime pals and now stepsisters are headed for some seriously rough times ahead. (KristinEonline)
“This is a good guy who has made some bad choices in his life.” So says Gossip Girl’s newest man about town, Billy Baldwin, who makes his debut as Serena’s absentee father, William van der Woodson, this Monday. He might be a good guy, but that doesn’t mean his return to the Upper East Side will be happy-go-lucky. No sir, in fact Mr. Van der Woodsen “poses some interesting conflicts and problems for everybody,” Billy tells us. (KristinEonline)
Blair is aggressively moving on from Chuck, Jenny’s still trying to swoop in on Serena’s man candy and Dan proves he might just be the best boyfriend. (KristinEonline)
Blair Goes on a “Real Date”— without Chuck! No matter how they try, these two just cannot seem to make it work. But as Gossip Girl’s Blucktastic season comes to a close, Mr. Bass has big plans to woo back his onetime ladylove. But is Blair game? If the fact that she’s ready to go on a “real date” with someone new is any indication, we’re guessing no. (KristinEonline)
Georgina’s return to Gossip Girl? It’s surprisingly good, and it involves Dan (Penn Badgley). (KristinEonline)
Billy Baldwin’s Will van der Woodsen is not all bad—emphasis on the word all. “What’s already going on between Rufus and Lily is what poses some interesting conflicts for everybody,” Billy tells us. “On the outside, Will wants to have his family back, and he wants to have a nuclear, biological family healthy again. That doesn’t necessarily mean he wants to destroy. He wants to have that and still respect the boundaries between Rufus and Lily.” (KristinEonline)
Gossip Girl finale- Dan and Serena will stop pretending that they don’t have feelings for each other. I can confirm that by the end of the hour, one of them will stop pretending. (Ausiello)
Gossip Girl finale: “This is a story that has been three years in the telling — going back to the pilot,” exec producer Stephanie Savage reminds us. “And that’s a story that we’ll keep telling in season 4. So I don’t think it’s coming out of nowhere. And it lands on everybody. It lands on Dan, Blair, Serena, Rufus, Lily, Nate — every single person has a POV about this, and we’re going to see these ripple effects over time. “ (Ausiello)
For now, though, here are eight tantalizing teases to calm you down, wind you up or, most likely, both. Next Monday’s capper will include a: Threesome, Departure, Mini time-jump, Engagement ring!, Shooting, Birth, Shocking OMG! twist, and A pair of spectacular Jenny smackdowns at the hands of Blair (Leighton Meester never better!) (Ausiello)
“Someone needs to give you the smackdown you so richly deserve, and it’s me who gets to do it. That’s just the cherry on top.” Sing it, sister! Queen B herself, Blair Waldolf, is all over the mess that is Jenny Humphrey in this week’s Gossip Girl finale—and that’s before the hookup-that-shall-not-be-named. (KristinEonline)
According to a very reliable source, the brilliant minds behind Gossip Girl are gearing up to have Billy return to the Upper East Side next season. Nothing is set in stone yet, and as of now it’s still too early to say how he’ll return—but after William’s abrupt exit in last night’s episode, there’s still much to be resolved with ol’ daddy dearest. (KristinEonline)
E.P. Stephanie Savage says Vanessa’s absence in the final Gossip Girl episode is a contractual issue. “The big story at the end of the season was the [William] story, and we wanted Dan to be available to really be in that story with everyone else,” she explains. “And it felt like it was nicer to give Dan and Vanessa their own ending to their story rather than try to thread that through [William's] story.” (Ausiello)
“Season four will open with a radiant Serena and Blair enjoying their grand and romantic summer in Paris…until Chuck mysteriously arrives in town with a new girlfriend and a new identity. Blair swore off Chuck forever but will this changed man woo Blair into having a change of heart, or will Queen B set her sights on ruling Columbia University? And as for that baby…?” (Ausiello)
Chace Crawford makes shameless plea for new love interest on Gossip Girl.
Spoiler Alert: Chuck Bass is dead. Sorry, not as a character on Gossip Girl or anything. Despite that gunshot wound in the finale, Ed Westwick is coming back. What I mean to say is Chuck Bass is dead…to me, as a fan, after spending some one-on-one time with the man you fans know as Nate Archibald, aka Chace Crawford. (KristinEonline)
Harry Potter actress Clemence Posey is about to cast a spell on ‘Gossip Girl.’ The 27-year-old French actress has signed on for a guest-starring stint on The CW series, reports The Wrap.
Posey is slated to play the role of Eva, “an utterly gorgeous female in her 20s or 30s who boasts a warm heart and an authentic French accent,” according to Entertainment Weekly. As the new paramour seducing bad boy Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick), Posey will appear in multiple episodes, beginning with the Season 4 premiere, which will shoot in Paris. (Fancast Blogs)
Gossip Girl will heat up measurably this coming season with the arrival of ‘Melrose Place’ and ‘Supernatural’ alumna Katie Cassidy.
Cassidy, who on The CW’s ill-fated ‘Melrose’ reboot played bisexual bad girl Ella, joins ‘Gossip Girl’ for a multi-episode run as a Columbia undergrad poised for romance with Nate (Chace Crawford). (Fancast Blogs)
Sources confirm to me exclusively that Cassidy — who was arguably the best thing about last season’s ill-fated Melrose reboot — is staying in the CW fold with a multi-episode arc on Gossip Girl.
She’ll play a student at Columbia and a love interest for fellow undergrad Nate (Chace Crawford). This next bit probably goes without saying, but a Gossip source tells me that Cassidy’s character “will make trouble” for several Upper East Siders, adding, “She is not what she appears.” Cassidy will first air in the season 4 premiere. (Ausiello)
Harry Potter actress Clemence Poesy will be busy casting a spell on Chuck Bass this fall. Gossip Girl has tapped the actress to play Chuck’s new French fling for multiple episodes, beginning with the Paris-set season premiere. The character, Eva, is described as a warm-hearted bombshell who joins Chuck in Paris — much to the surprise of Blair, who has been spending the summer there with Serena. (Ausiello)
Season Premiere: Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, 9:00-10:00 p.m.
New: It’s official: The Katie Cassidy-Leighton Meester death match is on! Exec producer Stephanie Savage confirms that Cassidy’s new vixen will tangle with several characters, including the show’s reigning beeyotch, Blair. “When we had the idea for the role, we knew there was going to be a really short list of actresses who could actually stand up to Blake [Lively] and Leighton on the screen,” says Savage. “And Katie felt like a great choice.” (Ausiello)

NEW SEASON SPOILERS:
The bitch is back and more powerful than ever. “Blair at NYU was like throwing a fish far, far out of water,” says exec producer Josh Schwartz. “I think [this season] you’ll see Blair with her power back, with her swagger back, back in her game, but still troubled by thoughts of Mr. Bass. The Chuck/Blair relationship—whether they’re together or not—will always be a huge drive to the show emotionally.” (Ausiello)
Exec producer Shonda Rhimes confirms TVGuide.com’s scoop that the altar-bound Private pair is Violet (Amy Brenneman) and Pete (Tim Daly). (Ausiello)
Well, when I asked a good show source if there’s hope for Chuck and Blair, he said, “Of course,” so take that for what you will. Meanwhile, in real life, our very own Hollywood Party Girl is reporting at Jessica Szohr and Ed Westwick have reunited into full-fledged coupledom. Guess he doesn’t really care that just last week, Jessica was swapping spit with another gal (and we know this little gem thanks in large part to our partner in crime Marc Malkin). (KristinEonline)
Josh did reveal during the panel that by the end of G.G.’s Paris run, Chair will come face-to-face (another tease we see in the promo) but it will lead to “explosive consequences” for the rest of the season. (KristinEonline)
Here are the top seven G.G. spoilers from the day:
1. Why Paris? Why not?! Says Stephanie: “Paris was the ultimate expression of what the show is—fashion, architecture, Blair’s father lives there, coffee, lingerie, all a part of the Gossip Girl world.” FYI: The first two eps of the season will take place abroad.
2. “Fashion’s Night Out” is the third episode of the season, which includes a guest spot from designer Diane Von Furstenberg, plus Italian Vogue and other industry insiders.
3. Josh teased that Katie Cassidy’s arc includes lots of “nice, juicy” details. She’ll “raise a lot of trouble,” he says. Woot!
4. When asked about Michelle Trachtenberg’s return, Stephanie teased: “You will see more of Georgina Sparks in more ways than one.”
5. Taylor Momsen will be back as Little J sometime in the first half of the season.
6. The in-show Gossip Girl website will be undergoing construction when the season starts. She’s gotta get with the 2010 technology, yo. The site will have some never-before-seen technology, too.
7. Stephanie says there’s a “definite endgame in mind,” but not in the near future. And score one for Josh with this Lost joke: “We know what the Island is…Manhattan.”

EP Stephanie Savage reveals, “Georgina’s baby is Georgina’s baby; it’s not Dorota’s” (as some have speculated); ‘Melrose’ alum Katie Cassidy’s character will “cause a lot of problems for Serena and Blair”; and Chuck may be alive but “we’ll discover that he maybe did not get the best medical care possible when he was found in the alley.” Speaking of Mr. Bass, his new flame Eva (played by French actress Clémence Poésy) is described as “extremely likable… a little bit of an innocent who gets schooled hard” when she hits NYC – likely at the hands of Blair.
